Fantasyland

The State of the Union speech Tuesday night could have been renamed Fantasyland. Biden proposed all kinds of new spending which he said would both reduce inflation and the deficit when in fact they will do the opposite. Of course none of his proposals will actually be passed. He was audibly booed by Republicans when, after trying to “unify” us against Russia, he immediately criticized the Trump tax cuts and everyone who voted for them, which was half the people in the room. Way to bring people together Joe! Booing used to be unacceptable in the House chambers. No more. Dems started booing Trump. Republicans continuing the new tradition. More of an indication of how far apart the parties are today. And of course Biden’s speech was filled with half-truths and outright lies. He suddenly claims to be interested in funding police and securing the border. He will not lift a finger to do either. He has one talent. He can read polling. I much prefer Walt Disney’s Fantasyland.
