Merry Christmas

Mary, did you know that your baby boy would one day walk on water?
Mary, did you know that your baby boy would save our sons and daughters?
Did you know that your baby boy has come to make you new?
This child that you've delivered, will soon deliver you.

Mary, did you know that your baby boy will give sight to a blind man?
Mary, did you know that your baby boy will calm the storm with his hand?
Did you know that your baby boy has walked where angels trod?
When you kiss your little baby, you kiss the face of God.

Mary, did you know? Mary, did you know? Mary, did you know?..
Mary, did you know? Mary, did you know? Mary, did you know?..

The blind will see, the deaf will hear, the dead will live again.
The lame will leap, the dumb will speak, the praises of the lamb!

Mary, did you know that your baby boy is Lord of all creation?
Mary, did you know that your baby boy would one day rule the nations?
Did you know that your baby boy is heaven's perfect Lamb?
That sleeping child you're holding is the great I am.

Mary, did you know? Mary, did you know? Mary, did you know?..
Mary, did you know?

Mary Did You Know – by Mark Lowry (lyrics) and Buddy Greene (melody)
Performed by many including Clay Aiken, Kenny Rogers, Carrie Underwood and Dolly Parton, although I have used the version by Pentatonix

…..

This is not an old carol, since it was written in 1991. But the music is beautiful, the lyrics are powerful, and the overall affect is transformative. Good things and great creation are still going on, in spite of the travails and heartbreaks we see in the world today.

As I wrap up year one of Look Through The Chaos, I hope you have enjoyed reading and I wish all of my loyal readers the Merriest of Christmases and a Joyous New Year!

Barring some big news development in the next 10 days, I will be back with more blogs after the first of the year.
